    Nächste Falcon Online Runde.

    Moin Jungs:

    Campaign Guidelines (ROE):

    OBJECTIVES TO WIN THE WAR:

BLUE must capture: Tosan and Wosan OR Tosan and Sariwon

RED must capture: Chuncheon and Suwon OR Chuncheon and Samchok

Picture Victory Objectives - click to enlarge:

The war will last max. 23 days.
If total objectives (above) are not achieved, the war will be evaluated by partial achieved ojectives, losses (air and ground) and territorial gains.

    **************************************************

    * Challenge Rating = Rookie (Forces are balanced on Start).
    * AI Pilot Skill = ACE
    * AI ADA Skill = ACE

************ ATO (Air Tasking Order) *************

The squadrons available for humans always have RED FLAG fighter squadron patches.
All others (for AI-squadrons) have a RED STAR or NATO patches.

Following Fighter-Squadrons are to be used by humans, as they are not AI and scheduled by the HQ.
In detail: the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Fighter-Squadrons on BOTH SIDES

You need to join and commit to the server using the 101st MB339 Squadron (RED or BLUE). This is the "Join-&-Rest-Squadron".
If you want to switch to other Airbase/Squadrons on your side, you can do this also later in the Order of Battle list by choosing a
different human squadron, right-click >> status >> JOIN, AFTER you created flight within the ACTIVE squadrons (1st, 2nd and 3rd Squadron).
LEAVE the active 1st, 2nd and 3rd Squadron bases after finished flights and join the neutral "Join-&-Rest-Squadron" again before you create another flight or you will automatically occupy other players slots if you remain in an active squadron.

    **************** HQ (PAK) *******************

Target Type / Mission Type / PAKS / Mission- and Objective Priorities / Mission-Roles have been manually set in respect to strategical relevance and for most enjoyable interactive playability for humans.
The AI is balanced, meaning without human interaction the war continues on equal basis and it will be up to the human teams on both sides to determine the final outcome.

JSTAR is intentionally missing, meaning besides known enemy unit locations, other battalions and
units will appear only in 2D after your ground- and air-units are spotting them - so they become available as "Intel" in the 2D map.
Additionally the "Order of Battle" register has been organized in order to provide better Intel for your briefings.
The philosphy behind this is to support the frontline-importance and also to keep the element of random "surprises".
The Server is oriented in the way, that the RED side is representing in general Russian planes, units and weapons (except the human F-16C 52+s on the RED side of course), whereas the BLUE side is representing NATO hardware and equipment.
The intend of this concept is to provide a REDFLAG-like exercise environment, where humans can fight each other in a full dynamic battlefield around them with the diversity of forces.
RWR signatures of the fighters are specifically defined in order help the humans to separate and identify (IFF) friend from foe better.

This should help in future to IFF and to fight without AWACS (in times it is down - if at all of course).

The variety in the Weapons-loadout of the RED and the BLUE side supports the different doctrines and tactics used in this "EAST vs NATO"

    tactics and strategies required.

HUMAN AIRBASES ARE FROM NOW ON OFF-LIMITS - DESTROYING THEM IS NOT ALLOWED ANYMORE and results in "disqualification" from the EVENT

    Reasons being are:

    - We have alot of pilots flying on average meanwhile and if runways are destroyed, one of the two sides consequently runs into scheduling (Add package) problems due to lack of airplanes or due to the fact, that all pilots are "squeezed" into one remaining squadron. If many pilots on one side try to scedule packages on one or few airbases left, it leads to ATO package creation "lags"- it is like having booked flights, but having to wait for them to be available (added packages not showing up or showing up late in ATO ie).
Because of this we end up with alot of wrong packages not deleted or aborted properly (as they show up delayed in the ATO) and thus human F-16s taking of as AIs and getting wasted as result.

    - Yes, the argument that bombing those runways aswell is more "realistic" is considered, but bear in mind that in REAL you also have always pilots ready to scramble and defend, whereas on a server like this we have times where only one side (force) flies and the other side has no players available at all and that is never can be as it is in "real".
This led to the idea to subscribe for events in future on RED or BLUE with each 4 different timezones so we are able to balance better before a campaign actually launches. Squadrons can sign up on red and blue and the timezone they "believe" they will fly most. This allow us a better balancing of the teams in future prior to a event, but even that is no grant for a balanced or controlled activity at all times on a game server.

    - Stronger or more airedefenses around human airbases have been added to counter-balance this, but even they get shot over time and its not logic to put hillariously much SAMs around each human airbase just in order to prevent those issues.

    - The suggestion was made to add more human airbases to the theater, but we dont have runways left in the map and merging human squadrons together with AI squadrons on one base is something strongly to avoid at best (CTD and other bad reasons on MP).

    - The suggestion to add more human squadrons to one human base has also been made, but here we run into "spawn-slots" issues as we have limited spawn-slots leading to "spawing over eachother" and "exploding" issues.

    - Furthermore this theater is provided for everyone to enjoy the challange of fighting within an AI-based environment while achieving certain specific objectives; and is not a "piss-contest" with the goal to disable the other team from being able to fly. If that would have been the goal we could have hosted a multiplayer version of it with humans on one side and AIs on the other aswell. What´s the point of a force-on-force server, if one side cant fly at all?

    - This is maybe the 10th to 12th time (i think) we host a theater since the creation of this place ...and funnily and sure enough... human airbases are still a "drama" or an issue.
Understanding "War" (even if its only virtual) and what it does to people and how it drives them to win game-wise with all cards playable - pure survival motives - ... is not easy, if not observed long enough. Nor is it easy to see the fading borders between "war" and "sport" or "game". In one the rules fall apart.. in the other they rule.

Another problem is we as theater developers are in the dilema of being loved by some and hated by others for the choices we make for the ROEs, but we have to make them in order to grant smooth operations on the hosted theaters. Despite that, i made the difficult, but the here well reasoned choice to make human airbases off-limits for RedFlag and suprisingly it worked and works.
Not only that it directs the attentions of the particpants to the "richness" of the campaign itself - instead of a prime focus on singular "human" elements of it - but it also makes sense in respect to the
    above described conflicts.

    - Additionally i would love to remind everyone, that we fly here with fair and sportsman-ship like enjoyable goal. We are all here (i believe) to enjoy the server and the campaign, instead of causing technical issues on the server or causing headaches for the opposing team by disabling constantly their ability to task properly or to fly and participate at all.

    Respectfully

    A.S
